Bridgstone S03 Tyres on Soarer

Mongoose (V8 Ltd) has just fitted Bridgestone SO3 tyres to his car, he reports the steering is "chronic" (having spent several months getting it perfect) and tyre noise is excessive!

Anyone else tried them?

I put P6000's on mine, (17's) a great tyre, no noise, good grip, good handeling, the only trouble was, after I took a lump out of one of them I found out that they dont make em anymore, so I had to buy another two P7000's

but I recomend them.

I used P6000 for a couple of years, a bit pricey but they came down to £98 as I was buying them wholesale, they seem to wear out very quick if you give them stick.

Hello All.
Just purchased some BBS 17" from Alastair Head (LSOC), look really good too!, they are fitted with P6000,s and are as Steve said are very quiet, I do have a Question though, how much difference do the 17" make to the speedo etc,.
Cheers.
Keith

Strange that as Alastair (DICK) Head had sold them to me last week, but suddenly came up with a lame excuse about not being able to find the centre caps in his warehouse (CNUT):

"This is not happening

Sorry for the inconvenience

My own storage facilities are not as good as I thought and the wheels are
not 'complete'

If I come up with a solution or find the bits I'll contact you

Thanks

Alastair Head"

Over the past few years I have met a lot of people in Soarer owners but Alastair is the first complete TW4T I have come across, needless to say he will not be welcome on this forum (note to other guys, executive decision taken in a time of crisis).

Well, well, what do you know Keith has caused a bigger stir on his FIRST post than I ever did on the LSOC.

good on ya mate, and get yourself a good set of locking wheel nuts, either that or dont go to any meets, as Bill is determined to get THOSE wheels

Sorry Keith, I got sidetracked from your question (by that THE SNIVELING CNUT Alastair), what tyres are fitted, this will determine the rolling radius and the amount of speedo error?

Just to come in on the Bills post re Bridgestones SO3's
These were fitted to my 16"TT `winter' wheels 'cos me tyres were shagged and it was MOT time. I had not made my mind up about which wheels/tyres to use/buy this summer so I just got the `winter set sorted to give me thinking time.
I did not think it was possible to sod up the ride etc with stock TT 16" wheels!!!!! So I did very little research into the SO3's. I swear by Bridgestone on my M/c, so i ordered their best tyre, rated to 186mph or something!!
As soon as I drove out of the tyre place, they were shite at 30 mph. VERY noisy. Very twitchy. After a week I decided to check the pressures. FORTY F*CKING TWO in each!!!!!. Reduced to 32, much better, but still CRAP. Played with 30 front/33 rear. Better but STILL CRAP. Now they feel as though they are out of balance.
The only good thing I can say is they grip. But then so do lots of tyres without making a Soarer feel like a leaf sprung Model T

They are SO BAD that they ARE going in the skip.
Maybe I shall go down A Sarfend cruise and melt them into smoke.
Just under 500 F*CKING POUNDS (NOT) worth of SHITE.

Like I said, I did not think it was possible for such a manufacturer to make such a shit tyre. I suppose it works on some car make, but it does not work on an Air Soarer.

Baz "i had B's on my supra, felt very corse noisy/rumbly. tend to have block type grip patten." pretty much in a nut shell. Take note that you remembered exactly after 5 years!!!!
They were probably SO1's which were supposed to be a good tyre, but now that I am asking about the SO3's I'm getting "hhhhhhhmmm I wouldn't put them on if I were you mate"!!!!!!!!!

While on this wheels/tyres thread.
Does anyone know of a Wayne in Chelmsford.
Apparantly, there is a Wayne in Chelmsford fitting 8 x 19 (42 offset) fronts and 10 x 19 rears (42 offset) to a TT, this week.
I would buy the man a few pints if I could have a drive and see how it felt with 19's and all that rubber!!!!
Whether the above details are true or not I would still like to get in touch. You know, give out one of those contentious Soarer World cards!!!!
